GALLERY 2019

In 2019, Open Studio students designed an intervention within Seattle’s Sculpture Park that performed an acoustic experience. Students participated in a music and drawing workshop to generate ideas, then explored the Sculpture Park with mentors to look for opportunities for design.

 

Using many of the shared qualities of Architecture and Acoustics—rhythm, expanse, sharpness, softness, rises, swells, colors—students translated their conceptual ideas of space into form, function, and material. The drawings below showcase the diversity of ideas from the student group, from concert stages, to dance pavilions, to places of repose.
